Small bash script that watches a directory (/consume), runs ocrmypdf on any supported files (.pdf, .jpg, .png) and executes a user-defined command afterwards (rclone is included in docker image to copy resulting file to various remotes)
Run mkuhlmann/watch-ocrmypdf and mount the directory that should be watched to /consume (or customize with $WOCR_CONSUME_PATH).
Set $WOCR_CMD
to the command you wish to run after a file has been uploaded. This usually will be a ocrmypdf command. A placeholder named %INFILE%
will be replaced by the input file name. You should save the output to %OUTFILE%
which will be set to /tmp/ORIGINAL_FILENAME.
It is also possible to create subdirectories with corresponding $WOCR_CMD_SUBDIRECTORYHERE
if you want to execute different ocr methods (e.g. clean up the image in one and keep the original image in another dir).
After $WOCR_CMD
is finished you are able to set $WOCR_AFTERCMD
or $WOCR_AFTERCMD_SUBDIRECTORYHERE
, which will be executed after the first command is finished to copy the file to a remove (rclone is included in image). If $WOCR_AFTERCMD_SUBDIRECTORYHERE
is not set in a subdirectory the default $WOCR_AFTERCMD
will be used.
See docker-compose.yml
for an example that uses atmoz/sftp:alpine to provide a sftp server as remote for a document scanner and uploads the file to nextcloud afterwards.
Any pull requests are very welcome.
