Using Plotmish: Removing Vowels
It is often quite useful to remove a vowel entirely from the screen. This can be done for several reasons. If no remeasurements for a given vowel is acceptable it can be removed as a 'Bad' vowel. Also, if a vowel does not require remeasurement or has been remeasured and now is ok, it can also be removed so as to reduce clutter on the vowel plot.
First, make sure you set the correct reason for removal by clicking the button 'Rmv. OK'
/'Rmv. Bad'
button. (As you might expect you want it to say OK if you removing good vowels and Bad if you're removing bad vowels).
Then, click on a vowel while holding down the control button.
This allows you to enter a reason why the vowel is being removed.
Hold down control+shift
and a text entry box will appear.
Hold down the A
key and click and drag over the region you want to remove.
Release your mouse click before releasing control+A
to clear the region.
control+shift+A
allows an annotator to leave a note for an entire region.
