Glossary
Please do add to and update this as a shared resource for all using Webmaker Clubs. If you've been confused by a term and now know what it means, this is the perfect place to explain it to others!
"A command-line interface (CLI), also known as command-line user interface, console user interface, and character user interface (CUI), is a means of interacting with a computer program where the user (or client) issues commands to the program in the form of successive lines of text (command lines)." (Wikipedia)
In a Clubs context, this is a place where you can interact with a computer at a more fundamental level than a Graphical User Interface (GUI). It's the difference between going to a website using a browser to see if it's working, versus sending a Ping via a command line to see if it's up.
"A remix is a piece of media which has been altered from its original state by adding, removing, and/or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new." (Wikipedia)
In a Clubs context, this means taking other people's activities and resources and changing them to better fit your context.
