Aha! Something to see:

• RP2350 support is coming down the pipeline, and will break our Pico SDK patches with SDK 2.0.0. We must rewrite the early overclock, startup GPIO power latch and startup GPIO pin state latch to support the new SDK. This time without patching it!
• ports: rework board variant support so it requires a mpconfigvariant_XXX.mk/cmake file micropython/micropython#15336
  We may need to update our local board configuration files to adopt this pattern, or perhaps even investigate using variants for boards we ship with multiple memory configuration options.
• micropython/micropython@92484d8 and micropython/micropython@289b2dd - it would be prudent to switch instances of mp_obj_new_str to this new method. In many cases we use std::string, though, and might want our own similar helper for this common pattern.
• • micropython/micropython@2b8de74 - fixes ADC weirdness when using ADC(n) instead of ADC(Pin(n))
• ports/rp2: Enable ipv6 per default for rp2. micropython/micropython#15422 - 25k of the flash bloat is explained by enabling IPV6 by default, I don't think it's reasonable to revert this change for our builds so we're going to have to find some flash elsewhere....

STATIC -> static

A source of incoming pain - micropython/micropython#13763

TLDR: The STATIC macro was never really used, is confusing and will be wholly removed. It resolves to static and should be substituted as such.

mp_obj_malloc_with_finaliser

There's a breaking change with the introduction of mp_obj_malloc_with_finaliser, which replaces calling m_new_obj_with_finaliser and explicitly setting obj->base.type.
