Hello, im going to include this commit in an upcoming patch that will turn on pypi publishing in CI by default, with some other changes.

I cherrypicked this commit into my branch but it only shows up as myself and @lalalune . Is there a better way to include it that credits everyone? I could edit in a co-authored-by with your id but I couldnt find the email. Ideal way would be to merge this PR into some misc branch I suppose. Open to suggestions.
