I get confused when I browse: https://pulpproject.org/content-plugins/#pulp-3-content-plugin-features .
For example:

  • I get the impression the rpm plugin has a feature to host rpm's on amazon s3
    • then I switch the tab to the file plugin, which does not have s3.
    • when I read a lot more of the documentation, I find out that this is a feature of core, thus available to all plugins.
  • I cannot compare the "crud operations" of the plugins
    • Every plugin has different groupings of create synchronise publish update
  • The tabs make it a lot worse.
    • I switch back and forth
    • then I lose trust
    • it does not feel like one message, but like randomly pulled information.
  • I don't understand, which plugins are "complete"
    • is the cli for this plugin exsiting / complete
      • to use it as admin, do I instead need to download sth else and learn ansible.
    • is there already a ~"web-templete" for the gui

All these points are fair @fkuep - I will rework this page.
I had started a few times but now there's an "Issue", it has moved up my list :D

To me it looks like this information is genereted in this file from the respective plugins/docs/index.rst files.

So the easiest could be to exert some coordiniation with the plugins authors:

  • If they like to highlight features of core or e.g certguard , they could do it below (outside of) features.
  • If they can they agree on an order You don't need to manually track whats new outside of the plugins trees.

Then perhaps You can concentrate on trying to get rid of the tabs and reveal the tabular nature of that information.

Thank You @melcorr !
I guess You did all a single person could do and it's much cleaner now.
However the rest needs a team effort and think 00e6a44 shows it.

Lets see if pulp-cli will accapt the responsiblity.

Hey @fkuep
I felt that I needed to leave this open to come back and audit it from time to time.
There is always something else to add. This issue was invaluable and helped me focus on many things and providing more information, so thank you so much.
A compatibility matrix is something I need to work on also.
We are all meeting online during the week of November 8. You could call by and say hi!
