Sorry to be lazy - but to what extent is the code tied to the example diagram? I mean - if I was drawing such a diagram, I would draw it differently, but, does that matter in terms of the code here? Or is it sufficiently general that the details of this diagram don't matter? I've attached something more like what I would have drawn, in case it's relevant

The advantage of this diagram is that it contains all the numbers you need for calculating Bayes. It should not be too hard to make it look like yours, though.
