We discuss patient IDs for the R-LiNK project.
Recruitment and acquisition sites are uniquely identified by a 2-digit string and a standardized name:
Patients are uniquely identified by a 6-character string, starting with the 2 digits identifying the recruitment centre followed by a dash and the 3 digits of the sequence number of patients within their recruitment centre. For example patient 99 from GOTHENBURG would be identified as:
12-099
The project has two main time points, for MRI acquisition and biological samples collection. Each time point is identified by a 3-character string, starting with M for month:
ID | Time point |
---|---|
M00 | Before lithium initiation |
M03 | 12 weeks after lithium initiation |
Biological samples and data collected at a specific point in time are uniquely identified by a 10-character string, the 6-character patient identifier followed by a dash and the 3-character identifier of the time point. For example samples obtained from patient 99 from MUNICH 12 weeks after lithium initiation would be identified as:
05-099-M03
On the other hand, time series cannot be associated to a specific point in time and are therefore simply identified by the 6-character patient identifier.
