SoilWise mainly considers explicit knowledge--Information that is easily articulated, codified, stored, and accessed. E.g. via books, web sites, or databases. It does not include implicit knowledge (information transferable via skills) and tacit knowledge (gained via personal experiences and indivudual contexts). Explicit knowledge can be further divided into semantic and structural knowledge.
