As @ikeydoherty already made a pretty high quality thirdparty package there was just a few things to clean up https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/452888 and prepare for an inclusion in the official distribution https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/452889 which will hopefully be accepted soon.

Also updated https://en.opensuse.org/Budgie accordingly.

Except Ikey doesn't maintain the openSUSE package anymore and maintainership still isn't finalized from what I can tell: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/452889 "In state review"

@ikeydoherty Yea I just want(ed) to make sure everything is all set in terms of maintainership and availability on openSUSE before merging 😄

The time consuming bureaucratic steps such as IP review and whitelisting openSUSE/openSUSE-release-tools#656 are over so this might be accepted rather quickly.

https://en.opensuse.org/Budgie has been updated and GeckoLinux will migrate to the new development project as well. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1010121

I can also add you as maintainer there if you want.

Thank you for keeping us updated on the progress of availability on openSUSE. While I appreciate the offer to add me/us as a maintainer, @ikeydoherty's post still is representative of our view that having someone that uses openSUSE or GeckoLinux and is willing to maintain and integrate Budgie on said platforms (whether it be the packaging or updating of those platform's assets, such as wiki pages) is the best option.
