Clearly prefer root document over master document #13010

#8326 renamed "master document" to "root document". Some places still used "master document" and sometimes both were described as equal.

This PR replaces all unnecessary uses of "master document" and, when both need mention, clearly states the preference for "root document". Using a consistent terminology should make the docs more understandable.

Keeping the two as aliases is fine. I've pushed a commit to resolve some confusion though.
