I'm Curle, a Welshie with a technological curse.

The curse makes things break in my presence, but my resilience makes me fix them. With these traits together, i've learned a lot about technology and computers over the last however many years.

My Work

My most notable work is probably for Minecraft Forge, the open-source modding API.
I'm the project coordinator, leader of the team that manages the GitHub repositories, manager of the Forums, and main contributer to the porting process.

I host (and co-manage) the Forge Community Wiki; a community-centered information resource for all of Minecraft modding, not just with Forge itself.

I manage a couple of related communities, help out other modders whenever needed, and generally hang out and provide assistance wherever necessary.

However, i also have a ton of personal projects not related to that:

Side Projects

I work on:

• Chroma, a little OS with big dreams.
• Purpuri, a Java 7 JVM written entirely from scratch, in C++.
• Erythro, a custom toolchain to ease some of the friction i encounter during normal development.
• Fusco, a small interpreted language to help web development go a little faster.
• BS, the "build system of nightmares",
• Pok, a package manager for little things.

These are, mostly, side projects, so it doesn't take up too much time of my day.

My expenses

My day-to-day expenses are, almost always, covered by work. However, blips occasionally happen that severely limit my ability to do any work.

After cascading hardware failure left me without any working computer, and with so many projects needing my help, i was convinced to set up an "emergency" fundraising page to get a computer and some equipment back.

That fundraiser went shockingly well, so I set up a ko-fi and this Github Sponsors in case any of those people wanted to contribute directly.

All money donated here will go to a "rainy day" fund, and the occasional day out with some nice food.
