A former member of Elm's core team, I'm a lover of types, ML family languages, and being pragmatic. This is how I've ended up at Derw, a new language aiming to provide the Elm experience to TypeScript developers. Likewise, I've written a collection of Elm-inspired libraries that I'm calling Hiraeth. Read more about Derw here or follow me on Twitter. To read about the sponsorship model I'm following, check out the blog post specifically about that here.
The sponsorship will help me decide what to focus on, and give me some motivation in my spare time to work on this. Derw is intended to be a production-ready language for going above and beyond what Elm can provide. I'd love to one day work full-time on Derw and help grow it into the language I envision it to be.
In my time with Elm, I focused on making experimental things: A tool called json-to-elm that would generate types and decoders from example JSON data, a spike into server side Elm called take-home, elm-test and the HTML testing package. I'm taking the experience and knowledge I've gained from these onto my future endeavours.
