dual mapping would be possible? #270
Comments
Please try my X4 module, it was developed for that purpose. Let me know if it works for you! |
nice module but it is not what I would like because I never know before
which knobs I need to "dual map"... Pity.
Another thing: I just see now that the new version of midi-cat is working
very well with the knobs (you can map different knobs of vcv with only one
knob of the controller) but it still is not working with the "push
buttons"...
Anyway, thanks for your attention and work.

I'm afraid this is not possible then. Rack allow only one module controlling a parameter, if another module tries to do so the first one is automatically unmapped.
I created another issue for this and it is already fixed. |
Actually it might be possible but only for my modules if I implement something to share the parameter handle. I'm not so sure if it is worth the effort though. |
I think it is not necessary, I want to use it almost for other modules...
But thanks anyway

I meant sharing would be only possible between my modules, say MIDI-CAT and CV-MAP, but the parameters could by on any module, of course. |
So if I understand correctly It would be possible for example to dual-map
the volume of "vcv mixer" once with midi-cat and once with cv-map.
It is exactly what I would like to do. But I can't imagine the work it is...

Hello,
I often use mid-cat to midi-control lot of knobs but now (with your new function in cv-map) I would like sometimes to map the same knob with cv-map.
In other words, I am doing lot of live, so I have lot of midi control and sometime I would like to change (for a moment) the midi-control to a cv-control and come back easily to the midi-control.
So my question is: would it be possible to make dual mapping for the same knob (one with midi-cat and one with cv-map);
for me the best option would be that the both would be active or an other solution is that we can choose which one is active...
I don't know nothing of programming so I don't imagine if it is possible.
Thanks for your fantastic modules, for me it's impossible to use vcv without them.
Have a nice day,
Matthieu
