The Sympa Community is proud to release the first beta of the next version of sympa. Please install it to test and report bugs, translate user interface to your language, or enhance documentation on Sympa, if you want to help the sympa community to deliver a more reliable version of Sympa.

Sympa 6.2.23b.1 is the new beta version of Sympa 6.2.

This version fixes several bugs, improves some functions on scenario and makes minor incompatible changes.

About beta version

This version is a prerelease version of new stable release. We expect feedback from users and developers. See Contributing to Sympa to know details.

  • Debugging phase will begin in Monday, 20th November 2017.

    Also, translations added in this period will be incorporated into stable release.

  • New stable release is planned to be released in Thursday, 21st December 2017.

Sympa with Ansible

Sympa-Ansible project aims to provide an example of Ansible Playbooks organization focusing on deployment for multiple environments, articulation with Vagrant, keyczar based encryption. This project is based on Ansible-tools which demonstrates a way to use Ansible to effectively and securely manage multiple environments ranging from development to production using the same playbook.

The Sympa Community is proud to release the newest version of Sympa.

Sympa 6.2.22 is the newest patch release of Sympa 6.2. See “Note for upgrading” to decide if you should upgrade.

Note for upgrading

This version fixes following critical bugs.

  • upgrade_send_spool.pl could leave some messages not upgraded [diff]
  • "sympa.pl --change_user_email" was broken #65

Administrators in either of conditions below are recommended to upgrade Sympa to this version.

  • Sympa prior to 6.2 has been installed, and waits for upgrading.
  • Sympa 6.2.20 has been installed, and sympa.pl can't be invoked with --change_user_email option.

The Sympa Community is proud to release the newest version of Sympa.

Sympa 6.2.20 is the new stable version of Sympa 6.2.

This version includes several bug fixes along with improvements. Administrators are encouraged to upgrade Sympa to this version.

Note for upgrading

  • Even on late versions, several big changes on templates have been made. Some of them broke backward compatibility in exchange for bug fixes.

    If you have customized templates with earlier version of Sympa, you should check if web interface will work correctly and if system messages are sent correctly after upgrading, and reapply customization to new templates as necessity.

This version includes several bug fixes along with improvements. Administrators are encouraged to upgrade Sympa to this version.

Note for upgrading

  • Even after 6.2.16, some big changes on web templates were made. Especially, templates for shared document repository and list configuration edit form broke backward compatibility in exchange for bug fixes.

    If you have customized templates with earlier version of Sympa, you should check if web interface will work correctly after upgrading, and reapply customization to new templates as necessity.

New translation site

Current translation site https://pootle.sympa.org/ will be disused soon. Any additions after Sunday, 4th June 2017 will never be incorporated.

New translation site https://translate.sympa.org/ (currently unavailable) is planned to be launched at 9th June.

Past works by translators will be taken over into the new site. However, translators have to sign up anew.
