Notes for article 3: Board of Directors and some of Article 4 Programs

1 year of volunteer work in the local community, user groups, conferences, or serve on a Techlahoma program* or committee**. A limit of serving three 2 year terms with a 1 year sabbatical*** to serve as a board member. Term limits begin January 1 through December 31 and expire every 2 years. Members must be voted onto the board by current board members. Attend 8 user group meetings a year. Attend 5 out of 8 Techlahoma board meetings a year. Donate to Techlahoma 2 times per year. Join at least 1 Techlahoma program* or committee**.

*Programs include 1) fundraising, 2) investigating renting a new location for Techlahoma to operate from and/or for user groups to use, 3) Techlahoma management dedicated to completing tasks defined at board meetings, completing legal requirements for Oklahoman 501(c)3's, and recruiting board members, and 4) Thunder Plains management.

**Committees include 1) Thunder Plains after party, 2) Thunder Plains safety response team, 3) Thunder Plains sponsorship, 4) Thunder Plains speaker hospitality, 5) Thunder Plains marketing, and 6) Thunder Plains diversity outreach

***Board members can serve for six years and then must take 1 year off. After the year off they may apply again to serve Techlahoma.
