These scenarios describe typical user interactions with MixDown.

Novice user trying to build a package for the first time

Lorin is a computational chemist who wants to try out a new chemistry package called FooChem. He runs MixDown to try and build it. Unfortunately, MixDown fails with an error. The error message suggests that one of the dependencies, ScaLAPACK, has failed to build properly, and points to the log with the specific details of the build. Lorin opens the build log file and searches the Internet for the issue. There is some incompatibility with an older version of libtool installed on Lorin's machine. After upgrading Libtool, Lorin wipes out the build directory and runs MixDown again to build FooChem.
