Country SDG

This is a Django project that displays information about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for different countries. The project uses data from the Sustainable Development Report and SDG Index, and also fetches news articles related to the selected country and SDGs using the News API.

What is SDG?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. python -m venv venv
  3. Activate the virtual environment:

    • On Windows:
      venv\Scripts\activate
    • On macOS and Linux:
      source venv/bin/activate
  4. Install the required dependencies:

    pip install -r requirements.txt
  5. Create a .env file in the root directory of the project and add the following environment variables:

    SECRET_KEY=your_secret_key
    NEWS_API_KEY=your_news_api_key

    Replace your_secret_key with a secret key for your Django project and your_news_api_key with an API key from the News API.

  6. Apply the migrations:

    python manage.py migrate
  7. Run the development server:

    python manage.py runserver
  8. Open your web browser and visit:

    http://127.0.0.1:8000/

Now you should be able to see the project running locally.
