Ushahidi is an application that enables RapidSMS to push messages it receives to Ushahidi using the same interface that is used with FrontlineSMS.
git clone https://github.com/timbaobjects/rapidsms-ushahidi-app.git ushahidi
Then add ushahidi
to your INSTALLED_APPS setting in your settings.py
Here's an example configuration that's included in a typical settings.py of a RapidSMS deployment.
USHAHIDI_KEYWORD = 'report'
USHAHIDI_RESPONSE = 'Thank you for your report'
USHAHIDI_ERROR = "Sorry we couldn't process your report at this time. Please try sending it again."
USHAHIDI_TRIGGER_URL = 'http://beta1-1.ushahididev.com/frontlinesms/?key=TWKJHBID&s=${sender_number}&m=${message_content}'
The first setting sets the keyword to look out for to activate the application. In this example, the
keyword report
is used. Any messages beginning with that keyword is handled by the Ushahidi application.
The second setting configures the response that would be sent for messages processed by the Ushahidi application.
The third setting allows you to determine what error message gets sent back to the user when an error occurs in attempting to process the message.
The fourth setting configures the Ushahidi FrontlineSMS HTTP Post link. After configuring Ushahidi to accept messages from FrontlineSMS, you'll get a HTTP Post link that you copy and paste for this setting.
