Docker and Docker-compose

docker rm $(docker ps -a -q)
docker rmi $(docker images -a -q)

docker-compose build
docker-compose up -d
docker-compose up <container-name>

docker exec -it <container-name> bash
docker logs -f <container-name>

docker run -d -p <HOST_PORT>:<CONTAINER_PORT> --hostname <HOSTNAME> --name <CONTAINER_NAME> <DOCKER_IMAGE>
docker stop <CONTAINER_NAME> || true && docker rm <CONTAINER_NAME> || true

Run Individual Microservice

Go to the directory that has your Dockerfile and run the following command to build the Docker image.

docker build -t ./dsqServer .

Run the image

docker run -p 49160:8082 -d <your username>/node-web-app

In the example above, Docker mapped the 8082 port inside of the container to the port 49160 on your machine.

npm & nodejs

give permission to do npm install -g

sudo chown -R $USER /usr/local/lib/node_modules
