Making Sales in POS Awesome

POS Awesome is designed to satisfy the needs of a wide variety of retail verticals.

To access this Point of Sale feature, go to the POS Awesome Module as shown below



As a cashier you start your trading day by clicking on Retail Center. The following pop up box comes up

  • The Company is usually there by default for a single company entity.
  • The Pos Profile will be dependent on the assigned PoS profile for the staff
  • If you have opening amount on hand for each mode of payment, you key them in here
  • Click Submit when done

Now you have opened your shift for the day

As a Cashier you have two view options when using POS Awesome. The List view and the Card (Or Image) View.



The above is the List View, it simply shows a listing of the products/items and gives more data at a glance about each item.

You can change from one view to the other by clicking on the preferred view on the link shown below



The Image/card view is shown below



In this PoS view you can make sales to existing customers or to a new customer. To make sales to an existing customer search for the customer’s name/phone number or email in the customer box shown below

To make sales to a new customer you must click on the + sign beside the customer field. If you do click on this, you get a pop-up box where you can create a customer as shown below.

Click on submit when done

Note that at any point in time you can view or change the customer details by clicking on the customer icon besides the customer name as shown below.

The same Pop-up box comes up and you can view customer details as well as make updates where necessary. Any changes made (phone number, name etc) is immediately updated in the customer master.


Scanning/Searching/Picking Items into the Shopping Cart

To The Left of your screen is where you have the list of items, to the right below the customer field is the shopping cart where all items to be sold to the customer are dropped after been picked from the list of items in the right.

You can search for items using item names or numbers or you can scan in the barcode using a bar code scanner. The search or scanning is done in the "Search Items" field in the upper left side of the screen as shown above.

Once you scan the item it drops into the cart to the right. You can do a lot with an item when it is dropped into the cart. Or you can choose to do nothing.

If you are selling 2 units of the item, you can simply scan the same item twice, but what if you are selling 10 units of the same item? It will be inconvenient to scan 10 times. You can change the qty. To do this click on the arrow sign beside the quantity and you will see more details about the item as shown below

You can change the quantity by typing in the actual quantity in the QTY column. If you have the permission, you can also change the rate and apply discounts. If you do not have the rights these fields will be greyed out You can remove the item totally from the cart by clicking on the trash icon


Taking Payment

Once you are done adding items to the cart, the next thing is to take payment from the customer, you do this by clicking on the blue “PAY” button to your lower right.

Once you click on the blue pay button the left-hand side of the PoS page changed to a payment page as shown below

You can make payment with multiple payment options, simply key in the amount required in each payment field.

You can also quickly pay using one payment mode by clicking on the blue button corresponding to the desired payment mode.

When done click on “SUBMIT PAYMENTS” to complete the transaction and print out.

If you however want to continue and add more items to the cart, click on "BACK".
