Vicini is an online tool that will allow neighbors to share information and messages based upon how close they live to each other. Vicini is specifically designed to serve communities at the hyper-local level, connecting users with their immediate neighbors, the folks that live next door or just down the street.

Vicini = Latin word for "neighbors"

Key components:

• Neighborhood directory - Individuals users can create a profile and share basic information with their immediate neighbors. Users will have the ability to choose how much information they wish to share, how widely they wish to share it, and whether they wish to receive messages/notifications via SMS, Web Interface, Email, Facebook, VOIP, or other means of communication.
• Topic channels - Users will have the ability to send and receive messages based upon the topics of their choice and how far the wish to send/receive messages. Possible channels might include:
  • Crime
  • Community
  • Events/Annoucements
  • Pets
  • Gardening
• Security / Privacy - Users will have a great deal of control over which information they choose to share and how widely they choose to share it. Vicini will require users to verify both their identity and their home address.
