Learn more about eClient
This tab is one of the most important pages in eClient.
It allows you to (you'll never guess it) launch Minecraft.
There are other functions of the Home tab as well.
After opening up the Home tab, you will see this button:
This is the button that allows you to install Mods in Minecraft (from Modrinth).
- Upon clicking, the button opens a pop-up window:
- There are three entries, subtitled (respectively)
Mod Name:
,Mod Loader (fabric/forge):
, andGame Version:
.
- The first entry (Mod Name), asks you for the Mod's name, or, more specifically, the Mod's Modrinth Slug. Say, you want to download the
Just Enough Items
mod. Instead of putting the whole mod name in the entry, you will put the slug, which can be found in the search bar in your browser:
- The text circled (in red) is the mod slug. This applies to all Modrinth mods.
- If you know anything about mods, then you must know that Mods require a Mod Loader. There are two main Mod Loaders -
- Forge
- Fabric
- Many mods have multiple versions that work on Forge AND Fabric.
- Some mods only work on one Mod Loader as well.
- If you are, say, downloading the
Just Enough Items
mod, then you would go to it's Modrinth page, and check whether it works with both the Mod Loaders. TheJust Enough Items
mod does work with both the loaders. - Now, this is the tricky part: if you're making a modpack, or using a lot of mods, then you need to decide which Mod Loader you want to use. This impacts your selection of mods, but, you can't have both of the loaders working at once (at the moment). In simpler words, all the mods you wish to install have to have a COMMON Mod Loader.
- When playing Vanilla Minecraft, you need to decide which version of Minecraft you want to play.
- This applies in Modded Minecraft as well.
- So, all your mods should be compatible with the version of Minecraft you want to play modded.
- You can learn more about this for each mod on their Modrinth page.
After filling out all the entries, you should click the Download button and your mod will be downloaded.
There will be a button adjacent to the download button:
This button opens the Minecraft Mods folder (which is C:/users/USERNAME/appdata/roaming/.minecraft/mods)
You can see your installed mods there.
There is another way to see your installed mods. This does not require opening the File Explorer.
You will see this button:
If you click on it, a pop-up window will open listing the mods in the mods folder.
If you don't have any mods installed, then the window will not open.
In the Hone tab, you will also see this button:
If you click on it, a pop-up window will open which will list the changelog for Minecraft 1.20 and 1.19.
