Skip Silence 4
I'm exited to release Skip Silence 4 - a new large release of Skip Silence.
What's new:
-
Reworked design
I've worked with two designers to make Skip Silence's UI easier to understand, more modern and less cluttered.
Help texts are now in a separate popup, settings are more organized and the color palette of the design has been tweaked. This design update improves the popup design and command bar. -
Dynamic Volume Threshold beta
The dynamic threshold feature allows Skip Silence to choose the Volume Threshold itself. For this, it constantly monitors the media volume to guess what level the silence is at.
This feature is currently in beta. Does it work for you? Do you have videos where it completely fails? Let me know at #36 -
Keep Audio in Sync
Chrome and Chromium-based browsers have a nasty bug that makes video and audio become desyced when using Skip Silence. This bug has been reported to the Chromium team, but in the meantime this feature will use an alternative solution to keep them in sync. -
Saved time info
Skip Silence will now display a small notification in the bottom lefthand corner after you finished a video or audio to let you know how much time you saved.
You can also find global info on how much time you saved across all videos and audios in the popup.
Lastly, "Skip Silence Plus" has been added as a way to finance the project. I always distributed Skip Silence for free and will continue to do so as I think that many people will benefit from it, but I added Skip Silence Plus to prevent Skip Silence from becoming a stale or unfinished product because of missing money.
Using Skip Silence Plus you support the development of Skip Silence and gain access to "Plus"-features.
Plus is a one-time payment of $8 (excl. VAT), which is a fair price in my opinion.
