another prepublished release ;)

I basically use releases here to capture what I consider a good snapshot of the system.

Not really a didactic approach. In general there are no forks at all .. the present
release is built from the same lineage as all those that came before it. ;)

Too much trouble and I'm just one person working on it as a hobby, every now and again.

Edit: Took a pretty good look at the draft release, and did do a fresh build and installed it.
Seems fine. RP2040 (Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 USD $4 board) is the reference target board.
