If you find you are having trouble setting up SyncOrg please visit our faq

Initial Setup

Setting up the Synchronizers

When you first start SyncOrg you will be presented with a setup Wizard. You can use this wizard to set up any of the basic Synchronizers:

  • SSH + Git
  • No Synchronization (Capture Only)

Basic Usage

Main screen

Once the synchronizer is set-up you’ll enter the main page and the synchronization will be done automatically. You will find at least 2 files: Agenda and TODO. If you have synchronized files, they will also appear here.

Agenda file

This file lists all items with a timestamp (SCHEDULED or DEADLINE) as you would expect from an agenda.

Todo file

This file lists all items with a TODO state (such as “TODO” or any other user-defined TODO state)

Normal files

All other synchronized files can be found on the main page.

Creating new files

By clicking the pink bottom right button you can create new files. They will be automatically added to your repository.

Org file screen

The org file screen is the screen you see when clicking on a file from the main screen. From here you can see all items and cycle the visibility by repeatedly touching an item.

Action on items

Creating or deleting items

This is done by using long press on existing items.

  • If your file has no items, just press the “insert item” button to insert a first item.
  • By long pressing an item, you can delete it, create a sibling item (an item at same level) or create a child item (a nested item)

Editing items

From the Org file screen the only item property you can edit is the TODO state by touching it. The rest is done by swiping the item left or right to open the Edit Item screen

Edit item screen

From this screen you can edit all items properties:

  • Title
  • Text
  • TODO state
  • Priority
  • Scheduled date and time
  • Deadline date and time

Searching

Pressing the Android “Search” button or the application’s search button under the “Menu”. Results will display in a new list
