Source Member editing

Editing and browsing source members is fast in IBMiCmd. To browse a member, enter in the library and source-physical file in the textboxes at the top of the window and then either press enter or click the computer icon to the right.

  • Double clicking on a member will open it in browse mode - any changes you make will not save to the member when saved.
  • Right clicking on the member will show you more options
    • Edit - Select this option if you'd like to open the member in edit mode. Changes made and saved will be pushed back to the IBM i
    • Browse - The same as double clicking and will open in browse mode, not saving any changes made.
    • Load errors - This option will load the errors errors for an object that is in the same library you are browsing and with the same name as the member. This is useful if your programs have the same names as their source members.
