I added a podspec for the SDK and moved the sample app into a different directory with its own Podfile. I haven't pushed anything to the Cocoapods specs repo yet so if you want to test it out clone it and then change the line:
pod 'YammerSDK'
to
pod 'YammerSDK', :path => '../'
Inside the Podfile in the Example Project directory.
