Textile fibres
The textile fibres from tyres are obtained during the granulation process.
For end-of-life tyre granulate to be recycled in the various industrial production sectors, it must be of constant, optimal quality. After the successive shredding phases, the textile fibres are removed from the granulate by aspiration following separation. The weight of the fibres is no more than 6% of the total weight of the tyre, whether it is a passenger vehicle or heavy goods vehicle tyre.
At the moment they are currently used in energy recovery, but studies are currently in progress to develop new recycling methods for these textile fibres.
Main dimensions:
- Average diameter: 10-30 µm
- Average lenght: around 10 mm
Composition:
- cellulose
- polyester of the PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) types
- polyamide 6-6 (PA 6-6).
The quantity of residual rubber granulate in textiles fibres varies, depending on the production site and needs of the clients.
