Archival Records

The ANS Archives and Biographies (Authority records for people and organizations related to archival material) are important resources when tagging ebooks, particularly the people and places in the Archival authority database, which will be discussed in more detail in the section about People and Organizations.

The ANS Archives include a number of annotated (tagged) research notebooks. Like the ebooks, these research notebooks link to coins and coin hoards published in other information systems, forming a cohesive research framework for this content. An example is one of Edward Newell's hoard notebooks from 1939. It is possible that ebooks about coin hoards (particularly those books authored by Newell himself or his colleague, Sidney Noe) may refer to these hoard notebooks. You may need the help of Peter van Alfen or David Hill to identify the notebook mentioned in the TEI.
