How to join the team

Benjamin Piouffle edited this page Dec 10, 2018 · 9 revisions

CaptainFact is an open-source project, and an open collective. Everyone is welcome to join and take part in the project. We are inclusive and promote diversity across our members.

Conditions to join

To join the technical team however, you'll have to prove your skills and - more important - your good will. Judging that may not be easy, but here are some requirements that will be checked, especially for developers:

  • You must have made at least 3 significant contributions.
  • You have presented yourself on Discord, and engaged in discussions.
  • You have shown a good attitude and accept constructive feedback on your work.

Recruitment process

  1. We'll make a call with you so you can ask any question you may have and we can present you the various implications of being in the technical team.
  2. If everything looks good for us we will inform the Ambassadors about our interest to recruit you, they will contact you for a feeling call.
  3. We will take a decision and inform you about it.

About participation

Most positions will be volunteer-based, so it's ok if you don't work on the project for some time, or not very often. But to keep a dynamic and responsive team, it is important that its members stay engaged on the project. Thus after a period of two months without participation (not especially technical, but at least to the discussions) we will talk with you to confirm that you still want to be part of the adventure.

Feel ready?

If you feel like you meet these criteria and want to join the team to be part of the strategic decisions, you can send us an email at [email protected] or ping someone from the technical team on Discord.
