Service Authorization

Carl Karsten edited this page Aug 3, 2019 · 1 revision

NDV has accounts on many services to host and promote videos. If you want to use your own account, you need to provide access to it. In general, this is not username and password. It is an auth token that gives limited access and can be revoked when no longer needed.

Youtube:

For live streaming, start here: https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard and then follow the instructions on YouTube streaming

For final videos of individual talks:

  1. Make sure the show contact has access to the Youtube account.
  2. Tell me the name of the account you want used.
  3. I will email the contact a URL (google/youtube domain.)
  4. The contact person clicks on it.
  5. They are asked to log into the yotube account and then shown a list of rights being delegated.
  6. They click Accept and the page displays a token with instructions "send this to the person..."
  7. They send me that string.
  8. I'll upload a test video (set to unlisted) and send the URL back.
  9. Contact person verifies it is the right Account.
