The aim of this tool is to print instantaneous bitrate of the packets. The tool supports filters in libcap utils. The sample input <program_name> <tracefile/interface> <filter options> Example This program is installed as instantaneous_bitrate on the XPS (194.47.151.109) Sample input instantaneous_bitrate trace-872-1.cap Sample output <packet number> <Start time (relative)> <IAT (s)> <Packet_size (Bytes)> <Instantaneous Bitrate (bps)> 1 0.000000000000 0.082802295500 138 13332.000000000000 2 0.082802295500 7.184316337250 70 77.000000000000 3 7.267118632750 0.191370546750 78 3260.000000000000 4 7.458489179500 0.098104238500 60 4892.000000000000 5 7.556593418000 0.043848931750 60 10946.000000000000 # This program can also be used as a debgging tool to print bitrates above threshold bitrate , and we can aslo control the number of samples to print In the example below, we would like to print 10 samples above 100 Mbps in the test trace. Sample Input xvk@xrk-desktop:~/Instantaneous_bitrate$ instantaneous_bitrate trace-872-1.cap -m 10 -r 100e6 m flag controls the number of packets to print r flag controls the threshold bitrate ( 100 Mbps in this case) Sample Output 901 60.957002580000 0.000005304750 107 161364814.000000000000 4612 97.434359550250 0.000001549750 108 557509275.000000000000 5996 111.076648771750 0.000005483500 115 167776055.000000000000 6650 117.496746063000 0.000007033500 94 106916897.000000000000 7425 125.135586977000 0.000000178750 89 3983216785.000000000000 7441 125.297972917500 0.000004887500 106 173503836.000000000000 9062 141.297408163500 0.000001192000 107 718120805.000000000000 10606 156.412299692500 0.000002563000 108 337104955.000000000000 13163 181.594257056500 0.000002444000 95 310965630.000000000000 13613 186.053677976000 0.000002741750 106 309291510.000000000000
