Kerbal Environmental Effects Study (KEES)

KEES is the early material science program of KSP it is inspired by the Mir Environmental Effects Payload, a set of four experiments run on Mir from 1996 to 1997 to test material for the future ISS.

KEES adds 4 new experiments to the KSP science program:

Requirements

Installation:

You need Kerbal Attachment System (KAS) to run the the KEES experiments. For a future version try to develop a workaround for installations without KAS.

Gameplay:

You need to upgrade your Astronaut Complex to level 2, so you can perform EVAs. And research the part.

Run a experiment

  1. Store a experiment and a Passive Experiment Carrier (PEC) in a Payload Carrier(PC)
  2. Launch your ship into a stable orbit
  3. Start a EVA
  4. Right-click on the PC and click on "Open Container"
  5. Take the PEC from the container
  6. Right-click on the PEC and click on "Attach"
  7. Attack the PEC on the outside of your ship
  8. Take the experiment from the container
  9. Right-click on the PEC and click on "Store" to store the experiment in the PEC
  10. Start the experiment on EVA or from within the ship.
  11. Wait for the experiment to complete
  12. Right-click on the experiment and click on "Finalize Results" to finish the experiment
  13. Start a EVA
  14. Right-click on the PC and click on "Open Container"
  15. Right-click on the experiment and click on "grab"
  16. Click on "Store" on the container window to store the experiment in the PC
  17. Repeat the last 2 steps to store the PEC in the PC
  18. Return to the surface of Kerbin and recover your ship to receive the science points
