Had a long discussion today about some of the key differences from previous systems... few points that are important to capture/think about.

  1. A fundamental difference between this system, and previous system's is that nodes are coming and going. Do we want to exploit that fact in our design, e.g., we don't need to garbage collect sometimes, just throw away a node.
