Minutes

Status Update

The STIX team gave a quick status update into the new documentation site, python-stix, other tools, and Java bindings.

FS-ISAC Report Object Proposal

The majority of the call was taken up by a discussion of the Report Object Proposal that has been brought up by the FS-ISAC. There was an extensive discussion, during which FS-ISAC presented the advantages and MITRE talked about some of the implications. Overall the discussion leaned towards inclusion of the report object, though the question of whether to do it during a major release or a minor release seemed a little more open.

Actions for the community: Please read through the FS-ISAC proposal and evaluate the advantages and any impact it might have on your environment. A follow-up message has been sent to the discussion list to continue the conversation.

Community Indicator Profile

Due to the length of the Report Object conversation we did not get a chance to talk about the community indicator sharing profiles. A follow-up message will be sent to the discussion list to continue the conversation.

Other topics

Version attribute

There was a short discussion of the @version attribute on STIX_Package, during which there was general agreement that it should be made required in future versions.

Release schedule

Several people in the chat noted that the report object conversation (and others, including requiring @version) would require a discussion of the release timeline.
