There are 1 slots assigned as 'system slots' (s1, s2).

These slots are special as they do not receive or transmit audio, nor do they receive midi messages.

By convention these slots are assigned to two very important functions

S1 - Router Module

Router modules define how modules are interconnected, and how signals flow. They contain ALOT of functionality , including panning, gain levels, midi channel assignment.

S2 - Clock Module

There can only be one clock in Orac, and this slot is used to select the clock module to use.

note: really 'special slots' only contain this functionality because of how they are assigned in the router modules - and so this can be altered. the above is true for the factory parallel and serial routers.
