General Usage for After Diffusion!

General Notes

  • After Effects Renders effects from Top down, so try to keep AESD at the bottom of your effect stack. If I can figure out a way to make it automatically stay this way, I will do so.
  • Make sure your project is saved BEFORE applying the effect, to avoid any unnecessary errors.

Usage

  • These are just the most basic steps for use, I'll be creating extra wiki-pages detailing more advanced usage soon.
  1. Create an Adjustment Layer and Apply the AESD effect.
  • Under "Input Layer" Choose the layer you want to use for SD generation. This can also be the Adjustment Layer itself.

    • By default, "Source" will be selected. This means you are generating based on the original, unaltered footage.
    • Select "Effects + Masks" if you want the generation input to reflect any rotoscopes or alterations made in AE.

    TYPE SPECIFIC NOTES:

    1. TXT2IMG
      - Just set the Source Layer to the Adjustment layer.
    2/3. IMG2IMG / IMG2IMG INPAINT
      - Set to Input Layer, and the second drop-down in the layer control to 'Masks.'
= Then, Set the Mask Layer control to the same layer as the input, but have it work with 'Effects+Masks'
    4. INPAINT SKETCH
Step 1: Duplicate your input Layer.
Step 2: Apply the Paint Effect to your duplicated layer.
Step 3: Under 'Mask Options' In the effect, set the selection to this new layer, and set it to effects and masks.
Step 4: Change the Generation Type to INPAINT SKETCH.
    - The effect will handle everything else for you now.

  1. Assuming you have the AESD CEP extension opened, you can now begin altering settings in the custom effect and generating.
  • Depending on the Generation Type Selected, the UI will change its visible options.
  • All options, aside from 'Control Input' work-- this functionality will be coming soon.
    • Script args are not available-- This will be a detailed re-work, but script args will be available in the future.
  • Key-frame params, pick-whip to audio, etc.
  1. Select the Layer you have the Effect Applied to and click the 'GENERATE' button in the CEP Extension.
