Creating USB installation media in Windows

- You will need
- Using the ISO (recommended)
- Using the zip archive (not recommended, doesn't work with small disks and only supports UEFI)
PC running Windows XP/Vista/7/8 USB drive with at least 1 GB of free storage
EXPECT ALL DATA ON THE USB PENDRIVE TO BE LOST IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING IT BOOTABLE! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP!
First you'll need to download the latest ISO here.
You can use one of the following tools to flash the ISO to your USB pendrive:
Alternatively, you could also burn the ISO to a DVD with the following tool:
First you'll need to download the latest zip archive here.
- Open My Computer
- Right-click the drive, select format, and choose FAT32.
- After the download has finished, unzip and extract all of the files to the USB drive. Make sure they are on the root of the drive, meaning that they aren't stored in a folder.
