Avatar Rendering with Compute Shader

  • Introduces Wearable and Avatar System
  • Introduces basic avatar locomotion rendering
  • Avatar skinning is being driven by Compute Shader, allowing fast parallel rendering
  • Introduces Cel-Shading Shader for the Avatars, provides closer relation to standard PBR format but with cartoon style lighting. Utilizes Texture Array for more efficient draw calls
  • Introduces an outline fullscreen pass shader for avatar and world rendering, using normals, depth and colour to identify edges to use as outlines.

Controls

  • Once inside a realm, you can instantiate up to 1000 avatars using the Avatar Debug Window

Know Issues

  • Intel-based Mac have signing issues. A workaround to fix it is to run xattr -cr Explorer.app where the app has been unzipped
  • Occasional crash on world loading
