RFP 4 - Participation in the Demonstration of Interoperability Between Two or More BPIs

Introduction

The Baseline Protocol community will be testing and demonstrating the capabilities of the protocol for multi-party coordination under zero knowledge in 2023. The Outreach Team seeks individuals and organizations experienced in orchestrating events focused on digital transformation to work alongside the Baseline Outreach Team on the Baseline Protocol events. The roadshow will be planned alongside the technical 2023 roadmap work to showcase functioning Baseline Protocol Implementations (BPIs) by real companies for real use cases.

RFP Goal

The goal of this RFP is to:

1. Create reusable content around the capabilities and application use cases of the Baseline Protocol for a quarterly roadshow to take place, with the interoperability event also taking place in Q1 2024.
2. Secure participation and event involvement from leading technology providers to showcase the competitive advantage of leveraging standards for use cases of multiparty coordination under zero knowledge across industries.
3. Create and orchestrate accurate, professional, and engaging events for the Baseline Protocol Community that increases engagement by individuals and companies and brings new implementers, corporate sponsors, and corporate/individual RFP grant givers for 2023/2024

RFP Description

Roadshow: With support from the Baseline Outreach Team, RFP work members, and external professional services, a series of events is to be organized where BPI teams demonstrate their BPIs for a set of industry-relevant use cases they support.

Interoperability Event: The interoperability demonstration event is a live one-time event at the beginning of 2024 as the second event in the roadshow to take place, to demonstrate interoperability of at least two BPIs across a real-world use.

There are three types of events:

1. In-person: alongside an existing conference or hosted as a separate event with a half or full-day agenda that includes speakers and demos.
2. Virtual: through a webinar with different sections of the agenda or on a Baseline General Assembly (monthly stream) with extra marketing and planning conducted.
3. Hybrid: the ability to join an in-person event virtually with a high-quality experience for virtual attendees.
   • Webinars: General audience (advertised webinars + conference speaker slots [if available]) or specified target audience (company executives, developers, invitation only, etc.)
   • In-person events: General audience (by tacking onto a big event or hosting a separate event) or specified audience (company executives, developers, invitation only, etc.)

And various target audiences, such as:

• General audience: open to public
• Role-based: C-suite executives, directors, mid-level managers, developers, solution architects, etc.
• Industry-based: supply chain, consulting, finance, etc.
• Invite only: invite specific people based on role, industry, or other criteria

Support will be discussed between existing community members and organizations, for example- Oasis has existing tools for hosting webinars.

1. The strategy and plan for the roadshow for in-person (hosted by participating companies) and virtual (webinars) events with all logistics included (technical platforms being used, budget, etc.).

Done Criteria:
Approval by the Technical Steering Committee.

2. Content should be configurable for different audiences based on job responsibilities, industry expertise, etc., and created for a core set of audiences.

Done Criteria:
Content should be created for core target audiences to have materials to leverage in future events.

3. Marketing campaign materials should be professional, tailored for different personas, and configurable for future use.

Done Criteria:
Marketing collateral is reviewed and approved by the Outreach Team.

4. Event content should include live or recorded show process environments BPIs for a clear and intriguing use case identified by Core Devs.

Done Criteria:
Work alongside the Interoperability work group, Baseline Core Devs, and TSC to create processes for adding and updating content in reusable and published materials.

5. The Interoperability Event should take place in Q1 2024 showcasing a live demonstration of at least 2 BPIs interoperating for a real use case.

Done Criteria:
Planning and management of a successful Baseline Protocol Interoperability Event. The final content should be shared with TSC 14 days prior to the event.

6. The RFP recipients should manage the following 2 events along with the Interoperability (Q4 2023 and Q2 2024), to set the stage for the quarterly roadshow sessions to follow a repeatable process and achieve goals.

Done Criteria:
Planning and management of Q4 2023, Q1 2024, and Q2 2024 events for specific audiences with a packaged set of content and marketing collateral that can be utilized by anyone familiar with Baseline Protocol as a presenter of the topic. The final content should be shared with TSC 14 days prior to the events.

RFP Participants

A submission can be made by organizations or individuals with experience in event planning, operations, or outreach for open-source, technical, or enterprise-focused projects.

RFP Grant Amount

The work will be supported by a grant of up to $25,000 from the Baseline Protocol Grant Program.

Note that organizations that are responding to the RFP are not eligible to receive grant funding, only individuals are – avoidance of corporate welfare. Participating organizations will have their work and contributions recognized as in-kind grant sponsors for this RFP. Funding for the grant work will be conducted through June, with this RFP commented on and any RFP submitters updated.

RFP Timeline

The deadline for submissions is the 30th of September 2023.

The winning submissions will be announced on: the 16th of October 2023.

The first roadshow event should take place in Q4 2023, the interoperability event in Q1 2024, and third event in Q2 2024, with a roadshow event each quarter after by the outreach team.
