Nuntium local gateway configuration

Nuntium can dispatch messages reliably to and from different sources via a downloadable Nuntium Local Gateway program. Here you will find the configuration steps to connect the Nuntium Local Gateway application to a Nuntium channel created in http://nuntium.instedd.org.

Android app configuration:

If you have an Android powered mobile phone, you don't need a computer to set up your gateway. Just download the APK https://github.com/instedd/mobile-gateway/releases/download/3.1.1/LGW.apk install it on your android device and follow the configuration steps below, then the phone will be used for sending questions and receiving answers.

  1. Download the App.
  2. Install the App.
  3. Open the App.
  4. Press the Menu button in order to display the "Settings" icon. (In some devices the menu button only appears after a long press in the bottom right corner)
  5. Click on the icon “Settings”.
  6. Fill the URL field with the Nuntium URL (e.g. http://nuntium.instedd.org).
  7. Navigate to your phone's Applications Manager.
  8. Open the application “Nuntium Local Gateway”.
  9. Press “Force stop”.
  10. Open the “Nuntium Local Gateway” application.
  11. Enter the mobile Phone Number and select a Country.
  12. Press the “Next” button.
  13. A new code is generated. You must fill the field “Ticket code” in the Nuntium channel with this new code generated by the application (Nuntium channel configuration step 7).

Nuntium channel configuration:

  1. Logging into https://nuntium.instedd.org
  2. Navigate to the "Channels" section.
  3. Expand the options under “Create new…”.
  4. Select “QST server (local gateway) channel”.
  5. Fill the field “Name”.
  6. Fill the fields “Password” and "Password confirmation".
  7. Fill the field “Ticket code” with the value generated in the Nuntium Local Gateway application (Nuntium Local Gateway android application step 10).
  8. The other steps included in the form are not required. If you don't need enter optional information you can ignore that optional fields they have no impact on a basic configuration.
  9. Press “Create QST server channel”.
  10. Back to the Nuntium Local Gateway android application.
  11. Click on “OK”.
  12. Press the button “Start”.
