Poster Presenter Guidelines
The guidelines for preparing and presenting your poster, at PyCon India 2019, is available below.

Size of the poster
- The poster board can accommodate an A0 size poster
- Dimension: 84cm x 119cm / 33.1in x 46.8in

Orientation
- The poster board can accommodate either landscape or portrait posters. But a landscape poster is preferred, because it provides a better viewing angle for the attendees.

Creation Tools

Beginners can use MS PowerPoint / LibreOffice Impress to create their posters. Both of them allow the size of the page to be configured. In LibreOffice, the page size can be configured in the Page Setup dialog which is accessible from the menu "Format > Page ..."

Advanced users might prefer vector drawing tools like Inkscape.

Layouts

A multi-column layout, with a title at the top is the preferred layout.

Background
- We suggest that you use a dark text on white background, to reduce usage of ink, and the consequent strain on the planet.

Font Size
- Please make sure you use atleast the following font sizing, to ensure the readability of the posters from a reasonable viewing distance.
- Poster Title Font: 85pt
- Headings: 36pt
- Body Text: 24pt
- Please size the remaining images and diagrams, relative to the above font size recommendations.

Printing

We prefer that you bring in your own printed copy of the poster.

If you are printing the posters yourself, we suggest that your print it on paper, which can be easily recycled, instead of vinyl / flex.

If you are finding it difficult it carry a printed poster to the venue, we can get the posters printed for you (on paper only). If you wish to avail this service, please register your request in this Google Form https://forms.gle/drYzaz9af5ZQCjE28 Registration and updates if any should be completed before 10th October 5:00 PM.

Laptop / Hardware and Power Extension

If you are planning to demonstrate your code / library / application on your laptop, or you have hardware demos, we will be providing table space to place your laptop / hardware.

Please bring in a power extension box, to share the available power sockets.

Alternatively, make sure your laptop is fully charged so that it can be used for the duration of the poster session, without a power source.

Using Content from Other Sources

If you use photos / images / diagrams from other sources, please ensure you have permission to use them.

Credit the original source, as indicated by the author.

Company Logos (Not applicable to sponsored posters)

The intention of the poster is to promote technical discussion among the attendees. Please align your poster to this objective.

Please avoid using the logo of any commercial organization that you work for.

You can distribute your visiting card offline, though.

If you really want to promote your organization, please sign-up as an associate sponsor, and present a sponsored poster.

Session Timing

The poster session happens on 12th October, between 04:15 PM and 5:30 PM.

Please make yourself available at 03:30 PM to ensure that your poster is properly setup, and is ready for presentation.
