- EBSCO, one of the biggest providers of a boatload of content of many types to libraries, has just decided to make its metadata freely available to discovery services without requiring use of their API: http://www.thedigitalshift.com/2014/05/metadata/ebsco-opens-metadata-third-party-discovery-services/ This involves "all metadata for 129 of its full-text databases, more than 550,000 ebooks and more than 70 historical digital archives."
