Detailed Description

As a systems engineer, I need a comprehensive understanding of the current systems architecture for the autonomous driving platform to ensure that all components (sensors, perception, decision-making, and actuation modules) are properly integrated and communicating effectively. Currently, there is no centralized documentation or high-level overview of how these components interact, which makes troubleshooting and optimizing the system challenging. Use the rqt graph as a starting point.

Definition of Done

  • A deeper understanding of the repository is gained
  • A high-level architectural diagram is created, detailing the interaction between various modules.
  • Documentation includes data flow between critical components (e.g., LIDAR, cameras, radar, decision-making algorithms).
  • Issues for architecture reviews with the new teams are created. These will be used to add and refine the architecture overview.

Effort Estimate

8h

Testability

No response

Dependencies

For a detailed overview of the components, meetings with the specialists of each group (e.g. perception, testing, decision making) is needed
