Testing procedure for video boxes

You will need/preparations

• wired ethernet (bridge?)

• dhcp server

• allen keys (size?)

• laptop with wired ethernet

• vga source

• hdmi source

• (optional) hdmi to vga converter

• power strip

• Wire laptop to switch.

• Set up camera.

Testing procedure

• Open cover.
• Remove SD card.
• Start flashing removed SD card.
• Install nuke SD card. Keep cover open.
• Connect network cable.
• Boot. The ssd gets cleaned up, and the machine boots properly.
• Find out MAC address:
  • Check builtin lcd.
  • If needed, check dhcp server leases table.
  • Put it in https://github.com/FOSDEM/video/tree/master/software .
• Check hardware functioning:
  • lcd screen
  • Plug into all 3 exposed network ports.
  • audio through
  • vga through (requires screen with vga in)
• Check scaler setting: 720p50.
• Check udp multicast output stream:
  • any output at all?
  • audio output
• Shut down the video box.
• Remove the configuration SD card.
• Insert a preflashed production SD card.
• Close the box.
• Reboot it
