Discord and In-Game Chatting

Similar to Season 1, we are using DiscordSRV as a Discord-to-Minecraft chat relay. However, there is a ton of new functionality this time around!

Linking

This is not necessary to use the chat relay, but will be useful for some of the unique features.

  1. In game, do /discord link. You will be given a code - copy it!
  2. In Discord, open a new DM and send (just) the code to the Discord relay bot, StardustMC#8452.
  3. The bot will confirm that your Discord and Minecraft accounts have been linked. You're all set!

Discord Features

While in the Discord chat, there are some slash command you can use to interact with the server. All of these require that your accounts are linked!

Command Description
/ender Shows your Ender Chest in the chat
/inv Shows your Inventory in the chat
/item mainhand Shows just the item you are holding in your Mainhand in the chat
/item offhand Shows just the item you are holding in your Offhand in the chat
/item hotbar Shows a selected item from your Hotbar in the chat
/item inventory Shows a selected item from your Inventory in the chat
/item armor Shows a selected item from your Armor slots in the chat
/item ender Shows a selected item from your Ender Chest in the chat
/playerinfo Shows player information in the Discord chat
/playerlist Shows all online players
/resourcepack Shows applied resourcepacks in the Discord chat

Minecraft Features

In StardustMC, you can type certain chat messages to interact with other players and users in the Discord chat. Although similar to the Discord features, linking your accounts is not required to use them.

Message Description
[ender] Shows your Ender Chest in the chat
[gametime] Displays the in-game time in the chat
[inv] Shows your Inventory in the chat
[item] Shows just the item you are holding in your Mainhand in the chat
[loohpjames] Links you to the website of this plugin's developer (InteractiveChat)
[match:<Text>] Pretty-prints the message (replace <Text>) in the chat
[money] Shows your balance (★) in the chat
[ping] Shows your ping in the chat
[pos] Shows your coords in the chat
[time] Shows the real life time of the server in the chat
@<user> "Pings" the user in Minecraft (not Discord) with a little sound

Voice Chat

StardustMC has a completely optional in game voice chat installed! To use it, install the Simple Voice Chat mod onto your client. In game, push v to open the GUI and use it!

This mod is also how we get the custom music discs working. If you'd like to hear them, you must have the mod enabled!
