Nurses, Students, Student Guardians, School District
A school district has the ambition to improve the administration of medications and keep track of activity across multiple high schools.
The primary objective is to implement a web-based medication management system that streamlines the daily activity of nurses, across various schools within an area. Using automated systems and data logging, the transparency and consistency of the nurse-student interactions are improved.

To achieve our project goals, our system will require several features. First we will have to have a login system that secures the sensitive medical information of the students. Additionally, the account system will have to be able to differentiate between the different parties trying to access the data. For example, the default view of a nurse will be the general navigation page. A student or guardian, however, will be redirected to the student medical history page of the student ID associated with the account. To improve accuracy of dosages, the project will use a database to store the variants of medications and which ones a student has been given permission for to receive. Using the medication permission information, the project can then highlight logged deviations from the permitted medication, which can then be reviewed. Further, to limit the occurrences of miscommunication of meeting times, the project will also include an automated emailing system which will notify the student and their guardian of upcoming meetings.
This lo-fi mockup shows the general workflow of a nurse viewing their schedule and being able to view and edit details. They are able to take certain actions when managing students and their medications. This does not encompass the entire system such as the student/guardian view or the scheduling system.
