Shift creation

The second step of creating an educational escape room in Escapp is scheduling the shifts in which the escape room will take place. You can choose a date on the calendar and then click the '+' button to add a shift on that date. A dialog will pop up requesting more information:

New shift

You can provide a name for the shift and choose the time at which it will take place (and modify the date previously selected). Instead, you can also choose to have an autonomous or self-paced shift, i.e., an asynchronous shift in which students can participate in the escape room at the time of their convenience. Regardless of whether a shift is autonomous or not, you can establish an enrollment period in which students are allowed to sign up. Moreover, you can provide a specific password for each shift. By default, the password will be the same as the one that you provided in the previous step for the whole escape room (if any). If you provide a password for the shift, it will override the escape room password for that specific shift. This may come handy if you want to host a private shift for other faculty members to test the escape room, for instance. Lastly, you might establish a capacity limit for each shift (the number of people that can participate).
