Hello [name],

[some openening comments why we chose to write to that person]

RG Summer of Code is about empowering women who participated in Rails Girls workshops and invested some more effort afterwards on growing their Ruby skills to work in Open Source projects this summer. [Optional: some short explanation of what RG is]

To enable students to contribute full-time to a project, we want to pay them a stipend of 1500 USD per month (three months total). The idea and the stipends are very similar to Google Summer of Code, however, in RG SoC our focus is on getting (primarily female) programming newcomers into Open Source projects, whereas Google SoC is more focussed on experienced developers. More details about the program are here: http://railsgirlsberlin.github.io/summer-of-code/index.html

For the stipends, we are looking for company sponsors. Sponsorship packages come in sizes of 5000 USD * X, so each tier means sponsoring for one student in the program, and include various levels of prominent sponsorship logo placement and press kit mentions. Details of the sponsorship packages are here http://railsgirlsberlin.github.io/summer-of-code/sponsors.html

Please let me know if that is interesting to [your company] or if you have more questions. I would also be happy to have a call about this.

[Best/Regards/...],

[Your Name]
